My initial goal for 2012 was to hit $2000 for forward 12-month dividends. I posted this goal in March when I started this blog. I reached this goal in July and I blew past the $3000 mark in December. I’ve adjusted my dividend goals upwards going forward.
I turn 42 in this year and my goal is to have enough passive income from investments that will pay all my expenses so I can retire or semi-retire and do what I want for work.
I like to think about how my passive income can be used to pay for recurring bills that I have. I’m currently at $9075 for forward 12-month dividends which includes my Motif Investing account which is currently producing dividends of $664/yr. This equals $756.25/month for my dividend stock accounts. I also have profits of $946.06/month* from real estate that I calculated here. I’m also investing into a Lending Club account and am earning close to 10% on $9950 invested or $83/month.
DG Portfolio($756) + Real Estate Income ($946) + Lending Club ($83) = $1785/month
