I started the year with a net worth of 334k. I set a goal to reach 450k this year and achieved this goal probably last week since I just got around to updating my numbers on my net worth page. I’m now shooting to break 525k by the end of the year. I will just need a little cooperation from the market.
The only achievable goal left will be to hit $5k in dividend income which I’m on pace to hit sometime in December.
I hope all my readers are meeting and exceeding their goals this year!
I’ve now completed 6 out of my 8 goals so far this year. All of my goals are posted on my goals tab.
That’s really impressive for someone so young. You are going to be a millionaire in the next 4-5 years I’m sure. Right before I was reading this, I was updating my net worth as well (up to over $207K). The market has definitely helped this year! My 401K and Roth IRAs are both up over 22% for the year. My brokerage account has also done pretty well, although it’s still been weighed down by some bad stock choices I made a few years ago.
A real turning point for me financially was when I started calculating my net worth about 4 or 5 years ago (at the time, it was under $10K). Once you do that, you start making better decisions financially and focus on building your assets and reducint/eliminating your debts. I really think that every American should be calculating their net worths at least a few times as year, we’d all be in better shape financially if we did.
Hi Scoonie,
Thanks! Congrats on the great performance in your portfolio.
I agree that it’s beneficial to keep up with net worth. I’m currently targeting 50/50 DG Stocks/Real Estate. I might get some fixed income investments when rates rise a little. My net worth 5 years ago was under $20k so I’ve come a long ways.
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice job AAI! Nothing like nailing your goals with two and a half months to go in the year. I am currently catching up up a backlog of posts (monthly updates, transactions, etc.) from when I wasn’t blogging this summer, but one of those posts will reflect a change I made to my goals back in June. Goals are meant to stretch, and readjusting your goals is the only way to do that. Good luck with 525k!
Hi writing2reality,
I suppose some of my goals weren’t aggressive enough. That’s a good problem to have I suppose. The 525k may be really tough to hit but I’ll sure try. Regardless of what the market is doing, I’ll be investing each week.
Good luck with your goals as well this year.
wow congrats! Keep doing what you are doing and $525 will be reached!!
Hi FFdividend,
Thanks! Also congrats on starting your journey.
Congratulations on meeting your goal for net worth!
Thanks Roadmap2Retire,
Thanks! I hope you meet all of yours goals as well. You have a nice yearly progression of passive income going on.
Thanks! I am on track for meeting and passing my goal for passive income this year. Looking into setting my 2014 goals now 🙂
Wow keep up the good financial work!! I just started doing passive income (shy of little less of $45000 portfolio) and net worth $376000.
Hi Dividend Mom,
Thanks alot. Congrats on starting your own blog and taking the plunge into DG investing. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you keep stopping by.
AAI,
Congrats! That’s a huge number. You’ll no doubt be a millionaire soon enough.
Your net worth could almost retire me! 🙂
Keep up the great work.
Best wishes.
Hi DM,
Thanks. Everyone’s FI number is relative. I’m envious of your lower cost of living. I still have a long ways to go but I’m definitely making some nice progress. I have no doubt that we will both be able to enjoy early FI one day.
Take care!
Wow nice achievement! Congrats!
Hi FabSavings,
