I started the challenge back in January and posted an article titled, I Started The Yakezie Challenge. I basically had 6 months to achieve an Alexa Rank below 200k. My original ranking in January was 432,171.
I’m happy to report that not only did I break the 200k mark, I broke the 100k mark! On July 2nd , I hit 99,649 Alexa Rank. The number has since gone back up to 110k but it always fluctuates.
I just wanted to thank all of my loyal readers. The blog started as just a way to hold myself accountable and jot down on paper my trades. I’ve met many like-minded investors and have been welcomed into a community full of friendly and helpful people that usually have a similar goal, FI.
This is my 2nd goal completed this year. I have a long ways to go to reach all 10 goals that I set in January, 2014 Goals.
How are you doing towards your own goals?
Congrats, AAI. Thats a fantastic achievement. Unfortunately, I havent been able to crack the 200K rank.
cheers

Hi R2R,
Thanks! Don’t worry, keep writing good content and write consistently. You’ll get more visitors. I have at least 3 articles come out each week which also helps.
Take care!
Nice! Best wishes for ever greater achievements through your blog…

Hi Kurt,
Thanks for the kind words.
Take care!
Congrats on passing the Yakezie challenge and dipping below 100k. My Alexa rank was doing well until May when I then started writing less frequently. I’m hoping things will settle down the rest of this year and allow me to write more consistently. Keep up the good work!

JC,
Thanks! Yeah , it takes a lot of consistency. My ranking jumped up over 10k from just the week I went on vacation.
I appreciate the support!
Congrats on your achievement AAI! I think I’ve looked into it but my blog is still too new. 🙂

FFJ,
Thanks alot! I think you’d be surprised if you did it. As long as you produce a couple articles per week then you should be able to complete it.
Take care!
I bought a house which was a short-term goal of mine, but I had to dump the majority of my early retirement stocks which is my long-term goal. A bit of conflict of interest. I’m happier in the present which is a bonus, but we’ll see how that affects the future.
Looks like Wallet Engineers is doing well. I hadn’t checked the Alexa ranking in quite a while.
Keep up the solid work and you’ll keep me as a loyal reader!
Thanks,

Hi Wallet,
Congrats on buying a house! That’s a huge achievement and produces returns in the form of happiness that can trump short-term investments.
I hadn’t checked mine either until I did this challenge. I was surprised how fast my ranking dropped from just writing a few articles per week.
I appreciate you as a reader and hope you keep stopping by!
Cheers!
Congrats on your achievement! Looks like this is a challenge I’ll have to do later on for my blog.

Tawcan,
Thanks so much! It was really fun and I didn’t do anything I wasn’t already doing except watching my Alexa rankings.
Take care!
