I’m reporting my automatic purchases for last week:
I Bought:
$250 of AWR
$300 of V
$150 of MDT
I used $700 in new capital and added $14.00/year to my dividend income. This is an average yield of 1.7%.
Note:
I haven’t added to Visa in a while but decided to add a little this week. They have no debt and are a cash machine. They have a low starting yield but have been a very fast grower and have a low payout ratio.
I’m still slowly increasing my position in AWR. Their P/E is a little high but you are paying for quality and growth here. My weight in utilities is lower than I’d like so I want to put some money in this sector.
I added a little more to MDT. It’s below an average weight and I’d like to bring up my weight in the medical sector in general.
The market is presenting some good values here I believe. I have also just initiated a position in a new company that wasn’t in my portfolio. I’ll be sure and talk about that soon but they are in the industrial sector.

Just for some fun and to add some color I will be posting pictures of places I’ve been to. It’s also motivation to reach FI so I can travel and do what I want to when I want to.
This is a picture during our helicopter tour on the Big Island of Hawai’i. The waterfalls were cool but I wanted to see the volcanoes. Unfortunately the weather didn’t permit us to go to the east side of the island. I was told there is no natural running water on the island. So all of the waterfalls here are from rainfall runoff. If it doesn’t rain for a week then they all go dry.
Very solid buys. I think V will eventually become a major dividend player. The growth potential is still huge and the payout ratio has plenty of room to grow. I’d like to jump on board at some point as well. Good week!

Special Agent Dividend,
Thanks, I’m glad you approve. I’m with you on Visa. They have a low payout ratio and plenty of room for growth. I hope you are a fellow shareholder one day.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good weekend!
AAI,
I have FRIPed a few shares of AWR at Scottrade over the past year but have yet to pull the trigger on an actual buy as the price has been higher when capital has been available.
Like you I want to bring up my utilities rate a little and AWR is top of my list. Hoping for a little pullback to 30 or a little less, but it’s been a stubborn stock in that respect.
Best,

DWC,
I’m also slowly building a position because it’s valued at a premium right now. It’s been holding up strongly but if it pulled back to 30 I’d be a buyer for sure.
Thanks for stopping by!
